Amy Hansen is a qualified physiotherapist with a special interest in pelvic floor dysfunction including urinary incontinence, prolapse conditions, bowel management and pelvic pain for women, men and children.
Amy graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) in 1996. Upon graduation she was awarded 'The Rosemary E. Wilson Memorial Prize for Caring and Giving'.   Not surprisingly, she developed a special interest in pelvic floor physiotherapy following the birth of her children. She is a registered member of the Continence Foundation of Australia and the Women's Health Training Institute.  She regularly attends  seminars, short courses and specialist training to extend her clinical skills and stay abreast of recent advances in pelvic floor techniques.
Amy's career experience has included roles at Hornsby Hospital, St Vincent's Hospital, Lady Davidson Hospital, Queen Mary's Hospital in Kent, The Royal London and at Coonabarabran Base Hospital as the sole physiotherapist. She has a wealth of experience in areas ranging from antenatal and postnatal care to amputees, fracture clinics, outpatients, intensive care, cardiac intensive care, neurological rehabilitation orthopaedic, medical and surgical wards.  She now runs her own practice in Port Stephens working closely with GPs, physiotherapist colleagues and other pelvic floor specialists .
