Dr Peta Higgs is a subspecialist Urogynaecologist trained in Australia and in the UK. After obtaining her general obstetric and gynaecology fellowship under the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) in Queensland, she completed further training in the subspeciality field of Urogynaecology, undertaking a year in Manchester, England and 3 years in Melbourne. She was then awarded the Certificate of Urogynaecology in 2006.
Her interests include female urinary incontinence, vaginal prolapse and in particular laparoscopic pelvic floor repair. She is involved in research projects in new technologies to treat vaginal prolapse and is an examiner in Urogynaecology for the RANZCOG.
Dr Higgs has been in private practice at Buderim Private Hospital since 2007 and is also a Visiting Medical Officer at Sunshine Coast University Hospital for public patients. She lives on the Sunshine Coast with her family.
