BSc (Med). MBBS (Hons).
FRANZCOG. PhD. CU
I am an Obstetrician and Urogynaecologist in the St George Area, and a Conjoint Associate Professor at UNSW. I was born and raised in Southern Sydney and went to Endeavour High School in Caringbah where I was School Captain and Dux of School in 1987. I attended Medical School at the University of New South Wales and graduated with honours. I was an intern at St George Hospital in 1994 and was awarded a scholarship to undertake a PhD at UNSW. I trained for two years in London to advance my skills. I undertook further training in the urogynaecology subspecialty training program at St George and St Vincents Hospitals to become a certified urogynaecologist in 2005 after which I was appointed as a consultant at St George Hospital. Here I continue to provide services including delivery suite, the pelvic floor unit, and the running of a clinic for women sustaining severe birth injuries.
I am involved with teaching medical students, midwives and doctors and I run courses for medical and midwifery staff on prevention techniques for severe birth injuries and how to repair them. I conduct research and continue to publish in the scientific literature. Nationally I’m deputy chairman of the RANZCOG CU Training Committee and a college examiner. I am married with two children.
